Tuvalu Cuisine

To make the travel more memorable, the tourists should for sure try some local dishes. Being for a long time a part of the British colony, the cuisine of Tuvalu underwent a bit of British influence. Thanks to its geographical location, various kinds of fish are found in Tuvalu, so the base of national cuisine is undoubtedly fish and sea products. Coconuts are also added practically to every dish. Smoked ham is a specialty of the country, which can be tasted in all the regions. Among other local dishes Palusami (served with breadfruit) and Coconut soup should be named. Because of its nutrition characteristics cuisine of Tuvalu is very popular among the locals as well as among the tourists.
